TAS_T BAKERY
From Sharing to Serving
There’s something deeply fulfilling about creating something sweet—not just for myself, but for others. I’ve always enjoyed baking. Whether it was a cake or a bar filled with fruit or nuts, that I’d bring to work to brighten a coworker’s day. Or banana pudding that became a favorite for me to make for my church family, a small gesture to nourish the spirit as much as the body.
People would often compliment me on my treats, but for me, it was never about the praise. It was about offering a little comfort, a little joy—serving others through something simple and heartfelt.

How It All Started
I would love to be that person that says "Baking was always a passion of mine!" What I now know to be a baking passion was actually brought on by a supply chain disruption.
My husband (Allen) and I would go to our local big-box-warehouse club retail store for groceries. We went there in the months after the great shutdown and noticed some of the items that we would regularly purchase were not on the shelves. One of those items was croutons. See, we ate a lot of salad and the croutons from this store would take our salads to the next level. Week after week we would go to the store expecting to see the croutons on the shelves only to have our hopes blown away like dust in the wind. After 2 months of no croutons, I said "I think I can learn how to make croutons." After watching my share of social media videos and many trials and errors, I mastered the art of creating croutons. From there, I ventured out to other items and finally landed on desserts.

That promise became a quiet mission. For the next twelve months, I poured my heart into crafting desserts—treats that felt nostalgic, comforting, and joyful. I imagined the smiles they might spark, the stories they might accompany. When the next season rolled around, we showed up with our table, our treats, and our hearts wide open. From that moment on, our journey truly began.
Tony and Allen’s Sweet Treats—affectionately known as Tas-t—is more than a dessert brand. It’s a celebration of connection. Each item is a tribute to memory: some may taste like childhood, others like new beginnings. But above all, Tas-t is about love. Love for yourself on days when you feel unseen. Love for someone who needs a reminder that they matter.

A Community-Driven Journey
When we moved to a coastal town in Washington, we weren’t just relocating—we were stepping into a new rhythm of life. One of our first discoveries was the City Market, a vibrant urban twist on the classic farmer’s market. It was more than a place to shop; it was a gathering ground for neighbors, creators, and dreamers. As we mingled with the locals, one of them turned to Allen and asked, “Are you a baker?” Allen smiled and replied, “No, but my Honey is!” That simple exchange planted a seed I hadn’t considered before: maybe baking wasn’t just a hobby—it could be a calling.
I told the City Market team I’d think about joining the event the following year.
